SMWNYC 2011 – Preview of Coverage

Next week, February 7-11, 2010, is Social Media Week in nine cities around the globe, including New York City.  I’ll be attending a plethora of events at Social Media Week New York and, as usual when I’m at a conference like this, blogging my recaps and thoughts of the panels that I attend.  I’ve listed the panels and keynotes that I’m currently planning to hit at the bottom of this entry.  Yes, I’m trying to hit a lot of panels; I don’t want to waste any opportunities to learn about any new toys or make new connections!  If one of these events really strikes your interest, let me know, and I’ll make sure any questions about what you’ve missed are answered!

The “Business, Media & Communications” content hub at JWT is looking to be my home base, as I will be covering events there for most or all of four of the days, and I’ll be stopping back for a panel on the day that I’m out and about Manhattan.  If you want to find me in person, that should be the place to look.  I’ll be uploading and posting blog entries between sessions, but I’ll definitely have free time to chat then too.

Once I get my credentials set up, I’ll cross-posting many of my entries on the SMWNYC blog.  Other volunteers will be writing about other events throughout the week.  At best, I’m only going to hit about 10% of the 150 or so events going on next week, so you’ll want to keep an eye at that site too.  I’ll also have my share of micro-blogging bursts on Twitter, so follow @khaughwout and #smwnyc to get the latest updates.

Most of my evenings are currently free after 8:00p or 9:00p, so I’m on the lookout for parties or social events hosted by NYC agencies or Social Media Week partners.  After all, that’s where the best networking is, right?  I’ll be at Thursday night’s OBLITERATI event (which is conveniently being held on the night of my birthday), so you can look for me there if you want to meet up but won’t make it to any of the JWT panels.
