It’s fitting that the New York City Marathon is being run this weekend, because I’ve been running a marathon of conferences this week (as should be clear by following the content on this blog and on my Twitter stream). Today and tomorrow (Friday), I’m attending a conference and boot camp that is being run by Influence People on “Monitoring Social Media”. The events seek to tackle two questions:
- “How can I listen to my customer?”
- “Now that I have all this data, how can I use it?”
Luke Brynley-Jones, the Co-founder of Influence People discussed the history of the Monitoring Social Media events. Early on, the focus was solely on introducing monitoring tools. As adoption of these tools has increased, the program has grown to include discussion on how to use data that has been gleaned from listening.
